How Does Fucort-B Cream 15.0 gm Work

Fucort-B Cream 15.0 gm is more suited for inflammatory skin conditions with concurrent bacterial infection affecting it. It works by acting on the skin via two basic mechanisms. Firstly, Betamethasone being a Glucocorticoid controls the production of proteins that lead to inflammation by binding to Glucocorticoid receptors and interacting with DNA sequence. Also, it controls the infiltration and migration of inflammatory cells like leukocytes. It also inhibits Phospholipase A2 which speeds up the process of prostaglandin formation, a key mediator in inflammatory reactions. Fucort-B Cream 15.0 gm thus decrease the inflammation.Secondly, fusidic acid with its antibacterial activity inhibits protein synthesis and consequently ribosomal disaggregation in vulnerable bacteria.
